Santos Brasil joins the program “In the Right Hands”
Brasil joined the Program "In the Right Hands", of Childhood
Brasil - representative in the country of World Childhood
Foundation. The main purpose of the project is to join efforts and
mobilize governments, companies and organizations of the civil
society in the most effective fight against the sexual exploitation
of children and adolescents in the Brazilian highways.
According to a survey conducted in 2009 by the Federal Highway
Police (PRF), there are 1,819 vulnerable points to the sexual
exploitation of children and adolescents in the more than 56

The intention is to sensitize the truck drivers to the problem,
qualifying them so they can act as protection agents,
co-responsible for the elimination of the sexual exploitation.
The program "In the Right Hands" foresees quarterly meetings
gathering focal points, multipliers and drivers for the theme
discussion, promotion of lecturers and distribution or booklets and
DVDs, elaborated by Childhood Brasil itself. The first meeting at
Santos Brasil will be conducted in July.
