According to the Brazilian Supermarkets Association (Abras), with the help of the World Cup, the market will probably close 2010 with an 8% growth compared to 2009. To meet this demand driven by the world championship, Santos Brasil prepared a special logistic scheme to one of its clients, Extra, Pão de Açúcar group brand. The task was to place 310 thousand customized soccer balls in the group stores, as one of the items for the games celebration.

Santos Brasil has just been awarded a double prize for the Tecon Santos and Santos Brasil Logística operations. The two business units of the Company were chosen, respectively, as the best port containers terminal and the best retro port containers terminal of the country, during the year of 2009. The award was conducted by Guia Marítimo magazine and the recognition of the best companies involved in the marine transportation and storage of cargos was by the cargos port services users.

Tecon Santos is the largest and most efficient container terminal in South America. Its location, on the left bank of the Port of Santos, is deemed privileged since it combines the Bay of Santos geographical advantages with the commercial and industrial influence of the Southeast region, which accounts for about one third of the Brazilian GDP.

Santos Brasil is one of the most important port and logistics infrastructure service providers in Brazil. Listed on Level 2 of Bovespa's corporate governance, the company controls Tecon Santos (SP), the largest and most efficient container terminal in South America, TEV, the largest car terminal in Brazil, and two additional container terminals, Tecon Imbituba (SC) and Convicon (PA). It also includes two port and integrated logistic companies: Mesquita (Santos, Guarujá, and São Bernardo do Campo-SP) and Union Armazenagem (Imbituba-SC).

Tecon Imbituba is located to the south of the State of Santa Catarina, in one of the main industrial poles and port areas in southern Brazil. It was incorporated by Santos Brasil Participações in March 2008 when the company won the bidding with an offer of R$ 120 million, strengthening its strategy to invest in terminals with the potential to operate as a hub ports.

The first public use port terminal operated by the private sector in the State of Pará, Convicon is located in the Vila do Conde Industrial and Port Complex, 96 kilometers far from the industrial and commercial center of the city of Belém. Its proximity to major international shipping routes provides direct access to every continent or through the main Caribbean hub ports.

An important logistics solution provider in Brazil, with one of the most complete operational structures for integrated logistics, Mesquita was acquired by Santos Brasil Participações in 2007. It currently has dry ports (CLIAS) in the Port of Santos (Santos and Guarujá), a distribution center in São Bernardo do Campo (SP), its own fleet for cargo road transportation, consisting of 80 vehicles, and more than 250 vehicles for Transportation and Distribution Management.
