Since it began operating in the country 19 years ago, Santos Brasil has adopted strict safety practices and procedures similar to those currently implemented in the major container-handling terminals around the world. This matter even plays a strategic role in the company, as it is one of the priority items in its Sustainability Policy, in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN). The Company is a benchmark in port safety and addresses it preventively, while also investing in programs and training to promote excellence with safety in its services.
"For us, safety is directly linked to ensuring integrity to everybody involved in our operations, to our customers´ trust that their cargo will reach the destination without failure or damage, and to the quality that only services provided safely across all of its processes can offer", says the Santos Brasil Executive Director of Port Operations and Logistics Ricardo Molitzas.
Santos Brasil also utilizes Sparc, the latest container control software on the market, a customized special cargo segregation service plan, emergency trucks, barrier containers, and operation reports that can be checked in real-time from anywhere in the company, as well as other tools that ensure operation continuity in case of any adverse event.

Holding week-long safety, health and environment seminars every three months, for disseminating the concepts across the company;
