Santos Brasil received Chinese ship owner Cosco Shipping´s new vessel. On its maiden voyage across South America, the Cosco Volga docked at Tecon Santos, the largest container terminal in South America. The ship was especially built to sail off the coast of the American continent, mainly in Brazil.
The 299-meter long Cosco Volga, which can transport nine thousand TEUs (a unit equivalent to a 20-foot container), offloaded close to 1,700 containers at Tecon Santos. The 37-day trip began at the Singapore Harbor in Southeast Asia. In Brazil, the ship called at the Port of Itaguaí in Rio de Janeiro State, en route to the Port of Santos.
